I love this hike. It's a tough hike up, very steep in places. I think the best route to the top is to take the Amphitheater to where it hooks up with the Saddle Rock trail. Then follow that over the ridge till you hit the Greenman trail to the top. If your lucky, you'll be the only one at the top when you get there. The view of Boulder and the plans is amazing from there. You also get a great view of the peak west of Boulder.

On the Saddle Rock trail, there is one of the best views of Boulder you'll find on any of the hikes. Be sure to stop there for the view (rest). The campus and Chautauqua Park are great.
